미국 국방부는 기밀 네트워크에 모델을 배치하기 위해 Nvidia, Microsoft, AWS, Reflection AI와 협약을 체결했다. 이 조치는 사용 제한을 둘러싼 Anthropic과의 분쟁에 이어진 것으로, AI 우선 군사력 창출을 목표로 한다. 현재 130만 명 이상의 인원이 국방부의 GenAI.mil 플랫폼을 사용하고 있다.
The U.S. Department of Defense expanded its AI infrastructure by signing agreements with Nvidia, Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, and Reflection AI. These contracts authorize the deployment of commercial AI models and hardware on classified Impact Level 6 and Impact Level 7 networks for operational use. The initiative supports the Pentagon's goal to establish an AI-first fighting force and mitigates vendor lock-in following a legal dispute with Anthropic, which refused to grant unrestricted access to its models for weapons and surveillance.
