米国防総省は、機密ネットワーク上にモデルを展開するため、Nvidia、Microsoft、AWS、Reflection AIと契約を締結した。この動きは利用制限をめぐるAnthropicとの対立を受けたもので、「AIファースト」の軍事力創出を目指す。現在130万人以上の要員が国防総省のGenAI.milプラットフォームを利用している。
The U.S. Department of Defense expanded its AI infrastructure by signing agreements with Nvidia, Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, and Reflection AI. These contracts authorize the deployment of commercial AI models and hardware on classified Impact Level 6 and Impact Level 7 networks for operational use. The initiative supports the Pentagon's goal to establish an AI-first fighting force and mitigates vendor lock-in following a legal dispute with Anthropic, which refused to grant unrestricted access to its models for weapons and surveillance.
