PayPal CEO Enrique Lores announced a strategic shift to "become a technology company again" by aggressively adopting AI and moving to a cloud-native platform. The company targets $1.5 billion in cost savings over the next two to three years, coinciding with a reduction of roughly 4,500 jobs (20% of the workforce).
