apple released ios 27 beta 3, enabling testers to adjust siri's pace and expressivity using sliders, a move to make the ai assistant feel more human. first teased at wwdc 26, these controls allow for fine-tuning of speech speed and emotion, complementing existing accent options. the update aims to increase user connection to the rebuilt, genai-driven siri, which integrates via dynamic island and a new standalone app. however, it still trails openai's chatgpt, which allows users to tweak specific styles like 'professional' or 'quirky' alongside emotional warmth.
