Pit, a new Stockholm-based enterprise AI startup founded by Voi co-founder Fredrik Hjelm and former Klarna engineers, raised $16 million in a seed round led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z). The startup targets enterprise back-office automation with an 'AI product team as a service' model, moving beyond simple chatbots to agentic workflows that generate custom software based on client guidance. Pilot programs began in mid-January across telecom, healthcare, and logistics sectors, utilizing 'Pit Studio' for process mapping and 'Pit Cloud' to meet enterprise governance requirements. The company controversially claimed that AI agents perform tasks previously done by junior engineers, though the CEO has since walked back that statement, noting the need for a balanced team as they scale.
