nolla health, a healthcare startup, has launched a pilot program in utah allowing its ai system to scan users' faces and autonomously write prescriptions for acne treatment. the program starts with two physicians approving each ai-generated prescription for the first 100 patients. as the program expands to 500 patients, physician oversight will gradually loosen to reviewing a sample of at least 10% of prescriptions every month. the service costs $4.99/month and is available to utah residents 18 years or older with mild-to-moderate acne. nolla health's ai can currently prescribe eight different skin treatments.
