OpenAI's Codex gets reusable cloud environments across devices

openai announced several updates to its codex software engineering agent at its dev day on tuesday. the updates include reusable cloud development environments that can be accessed from any device, a refreshed codex cli, a new code review experience, tools to harden infrastructure, and other api enhancements. the reusable environments allow developers to run codex on a computer, phone, or in the cloud, and provide a shared workspace with approved settings and permissions. openai also introduced a new code review experience within the chatgpt desktop app, automatic code reviews, and a new set of tools called codex security cloud to help developers secure their infrastructure.
