google is closing its search api — so accel backed keenable is indexing 100b pages for bots
keenable raised $26m to build a web index of over 100 billion documents, serving ai agents that major tech firms are leaving behind.
ex-yandex and amazon execs launched keenable with $26m in seed funding from accel to create a search infrastructure specifically for ai agents, offering an index of over 100 billion documents. unlike google and microsoft, which are restricting apis to prevent cannibalization, keenable provides ai-native retrieval to help models ground responses in source material. the startup claims its architecture significantly reduces the cost of serving web-scale queries compared to traditional search engines. with 15 engineers, the company plans to double its headcount using the new capital, facing competition from brave and exa as it seeks to become the search backbone for autonomous agents.
