Claude links to bank accounts via Plaid for finance insights
anthropic's claude ai now connects to bank accounts through plaid to provide users with spending breakdowns and financial insights. this feature is rolling out in beta to claude pro, max, and ultra plan subscribers in the us.
anthropic's claude ai now offers a personal finance feature that integrates with users' bank and card accounts through plaid. this integration enables claude to provide detailed spending breakdowns by category, such as rent and utilities, shopping, and food. users can ask claude questions like 'where did my money go this month' and receive an overview of their spending. claude can also answer broader financial questions, including what bills are left before the next payday, if a big purchase like a holiday trip is affordable, and how much money could be saved each month. the access is read-only, meaning claude cannot move, manage, or invest money, and it does not see banking passwords. claude can see the bank's name, account names, account type, the last four digits of the account number, balances and credit limits, and up to two years of transaction history. this feature is rolling out in beta to claude pro, max, and ultra plan subscribers in the us. anthropic plans to further develop this feature to work with licensed professionals and regulated firms for bigger financial decisions.
