Apple's HomeView smart home hub set to launch

apple is set to announce a new smart home hub called homeview on tuesday, according to bloomberg's mark gurman. the homeview will be a siri-powered device with a display and an a18 chip, allowing customers to control their other smart home devices. it will be available in two models, one designed for countertops and the other to be mounted on walls. this launch could be apple's most serious bet on the smart home market to date, following the company's previous failures to gain traction with its homekit software framework and homepod smart speaker. the homeview launch may also be accompanied by updated versions of the apple tv set-top box and the homepod mini.
