anthropic is giving six researchers from met, a nonprofit that tests frontier ai models, employee-level access to its models, safety practices, and risk management. the researchers have anthropic-issued laptops, office space, and access to internal tools similar to those used by anthropic's risk assessment teams. met will publish its own assessments of anthropic's risks, incidents, and practices without anthropic's approval, although anthropic can require redactions for certain information. this arrangement is part of a three-tier system anthropic is building to increase transparency and accountability in ai development. this move follows anthropic ceo dario amodei's proposal to embed outside evaluators inside ai labs to slow the technology's development.
