Anthropic embeds browser in Claude Cowork desktop app

anthropic is integrating a browser directly into its claude cowork desktop application for pro max team and enterprise customers. this new feature enables claude to autonomously load web pages read their content and interact with forms and dashboards even on websites without an api. the browser operates in a side panel within the claude app and is isolated from the user's own browser preventing access to their tabs bookmarks or passwords. users can transfer login credentials one page at a time from their existing browsers but are advised to exercise caution due to potential prompt injection risks and are restricted from accessing banking and email sites. this feature is set to roll out this week.
