Perplexity released 'Personal Computer' to all Mac users, extending its cloud-based agent platform to local desktop environments. The software allows agents to read local files, control native applications, and coordinate over 400 connectors to execute multi-step workflows on the user's behalf. The application operates within a secure server environment and integrates with the company's Comet web browser for tool usage. Originally exclusive to Pro users, general availability coincides with the deprecation of Perplexity’s legacy Mac app.
