Google is testing Remy, a new AI personal agent designed to execute actions for users, according to an internal document reviewed by Business Insider. Described as a '24/7 personal agent', Remy is currently in a dog-fooding phase with employees. It aims to integrate with Google services—such as Workspace, YouTube Music, and WhatsApp—to handle complex tasks and learn user preferences, moving Gemini beyond chat-based responses.
The report highlights Google's emphasis on user control and safety through its Privacy Hub, noting that agents should have defined controllers and limited powers.
