anthropic has integrated a tab-based browser directly into claude code, allowing the ai to open, read, click, and type on external websites within the development environment. this tool leverages existing app preview mechanisms but adds strict safety measures, including classifiers to screen write actions and a clean browsing profile without saved logins. while this increases claude's ability to autonomously fetch information and troubleshoot, it differs from the chrome extension by not supporting actions within a user's logged-in sessions.
