meta is adding an incognito mode to its meta ai chatbot on whatsapp and its standalone app to address privacy concerns over sensitive topics such as health, finances, and interpersonal advice. this feature uses the recently released muse spark model to ensure messages are processed in a secure environment and deleted immediately after the chat closes. unlike previous ai features on whatsapp, this mode prevents meta from using chat data for training and ensures context is lost upon locking the phone or closing the app. the rollout follows increased legal scrutiny regarding the use of ai chat logs in litigation and precedes a future 'side chat' feature for private inquiries within group chats.
