Replit CEO Amjad Masad disclosed the company is tracking toward a billion-dollar annual run rate, a significant jump from $2.8 million in total revenue for 2024. Masad cited 300% net revenue retention and positive gross margins—reaching as high as 300%—as proof that Replit can remain independent, a path he argued is not viable for rival Cursor given its reported negative 23% margins.
Regarding foundation models, Masad ranked Anthropic as the leader for agentic workflows and tool calling, while praising Google's Flash models for price-performance. He also noted that Chinese models like Kimi lag state-of-the-art US models by only three months.
