The company addresses the administrative gap between primary care referrals and specialist scheduling by using AI to process incoming faxes and extract clinical data, alongside voice agents that contact patients to book appointments. Basata focuses on specific verticals like cardiology and urology to ensure integration with specialty-specific EHR systems. The company operates on a usage-based revenue model and reports processing referrals for roughly 500,000 patients to date, including 100,000 in the last month.
