Google is updating its AI Overviews to include perspectives from web forums and social media discussions, citing user demand for firsthand advice. The system will now attach more context to citations, such as displaying a creator's name, handle, or the specific community name, to assist users in evaluating the trustworthiness of the source. This move aims to address the nuance in non-objective queries but follows previous high-profile failures where the AI hallucinated advice or cited satirical articles like The Onion.
