Google released the $99 Fitbit Air, a 12g modular tracker that is 25% smaller than the Luxe and features a seven-day battery life. This device launch, the first in four years, coincides with the consolidation of the Fitbit app into the single Google Health app starting May 19th, effectively ending the standalone Fitbit brand identity. Additionally, the AI-powered Health Coach exits beta to serve users across different hardware ecosystems, including Apple Watch, moving away from Fitbit-exclusive silos.
