Under the new system, $10 Pro subscribers receive 1,000 credits worth one cent each, with consumption driven by token volume, model selection, and context size rather than request count. While standard code completions remain free, the shift aligns Copilot with API pricing models used by OpenAI and Anthropic, likely increasing costs for enterprises running complex, multi-agent queries.
