character.ai is expanding beyond text chatbots into generative video with the launch of c.ai Series, an interactive microdrama format. the initial slate includes three animated series—Last Summer, The Nighttime Game, and Eden Fall—consisting of 10 episodes under two minutes each. while developed in-house using AI tools, the company plans to eventually allow creators to produce their own content using the platform. the model relies on a freemium structure to capture value in the microdrama market, which is projected to reach $26 billion.
