openai has accused a former employee of taking more than 100 confidential files related to its product plans before leaving to join apple. the files allegedly included images of at least one unreleased device, supplier information, engineering data, project files, standards for cosmetic finishes, and reports about hardware components. openai claims the former employee sent this information to a personal account and presented it to apple leadership, including the vice president of apple's operations in asia. openai believes this information is now being used to inform apple's new ai-enabled products, including the recently announced homeview smart display.
