google has launched a new guided vision feature in gemini live that uses ai to provide real-time audio descriptions of objects and text for people with low vision. the feature is available on compatible android devices and can be accessed through the gemini app, google talkback, or an accessibility shortcut in the settings app on devices running android 9 and above. guided vision allows users to point their phone's camera at objects and have gemini describe what's nearby, read small text, and identify objects. users can also ask follow-up questions about the objects they're looking at. google cautions users not to rely on guided vision for navigation, safe-travel guidance, or obstacle detection.
